Timor-Leste Research and Education Network (TLREN) is a dedicated high-speed telecommunications network that connects higher education institutions, research centres, and innovation entities across the country. It provides advanced digital services, high-performance internet access, and direct links to international academic and research networks.
TLREN operates on a dedicated communications network, ensuring seamless communication between user entities, and supports teaching, research, and scientific development. Its governance is designed to reflect the participation of the national academic and scientific community.
CTL, E.P. is legally mandated to support TLREN by providing fiber optic access, dedicated national and international broadband capacity, full technical management of the network infrastructure, and administrative support to its governing Council.
The TLREN Council is composed of representatives from CTL, E.P., the National Communications Authority, public universities and polytechnics, as well as private higher education and research organisations. The Council defines strategic guidelines, access rules, and the development strategy of the network.
